Meliá Alicante

We stayed at Melia Alicante for 2 nights and had a mixed experience.

We had booked our stay around 2 months in advance and specifically requested a sea-facing room. However, upon arrival, we were informed that no such rooms were available unless we paid extra, which was quite disappointing—especially since the request was made well in advance. This felt a bit unfair and took away from the overall experience.

Apart from this issue, the rest of the stay was pleasant. The hotel itself is clean, well-maintained, and in a great location. The staff was generally courteous, and the overall ambiance was nice. Facilities and comfort levels met expectations.

In summary, a good hotel with a great location, but the handling of room requests could definitely be improved to provide a more transparent and customer-friendly experience.

Stayed in the Levels. Room was fabulous. Very large and comfortable bed. Ocean view was fantastic. And great to wake up to the sunshine streaming in. Breakfast was lovely. Staff were amazing and the main bar in the hotel was very nice to sit and relax after the sun had set.

The building complex is (March/2026) under renovation works, resulting in construction noise during the week days, beggining at 7:30 h or earlier. There was absolutely no warning during the reservation process regarding it (I use the Meliã app). Strange attitude towards guests.
Our premium room with sea view was much more a partial/restricted sea view than what I, as usual Meliã guest, expected for a 'sea view' of a Meliã 4*.
The furniture and bed linens had holes and stains, also unexpected for a Meliã premium standard.
The positive points: the hotel location, breakfast room and the wonderful cleaning teams.
Regarding private parkings: possible in the hotel complex, as well as direct in front of it, costs of around 20 Euro/24h.

La experiencia fue muy positiva en general. El check-in inicialmente fue un poco regular pero cundo volvimos después de comer a buscar la habitación se compensó puesto que allí sí que recibimos una atención de 10. El hotel está en algunas zonas un poco anticuado aunque nuestra habitación estaba reformada y muy agradable y confortable. La ubicación inmejorable ya que te permite ir andando a todas las zonas turísticas. En general muy recomendable como siempre en Meliá.

Realmente la experiencia fue más que buena; fue fantástica. Sobre todo por la atención del personal que trabaja allí. Especialmente el personal que trabaja en la planta 1LEVEL. Recomiendo este hotel sin duda alguna. Creo que volveré a este hotel en el futuro.

Sehr schönes Hotel, allerdings etwas unpersönlich, was aber bei der Anzahl der Zimmer kein Wunder ist. Die Lage des Hotels ist gut, man erreicht alles fußläufig . Zimmer sind sauber, Frühstück reichhaltig und für jeden Geschmack ist etwas dabei.

A week in Melia Alicante for my husband's birthday was booked on the recommendation of friends and we weren't disappointed. From the welcome gift in our room and helping with our requests for guidance and information we cannot thank Andrea from guest experience enough. She went above and beyond. The food in the restaurant was very good with a menu providing sufficient choice for the week. Unfortunately the weather was not at it's best but Alicante is a city by the sea that offers so much more than a beach holiday.

Fuimos en navidad y el hotel estaba muy buen ambientado. El hotel esta cerca del centro, zona muy tranquila.
Los desayunos muy buenos, las habitaciones muy cuidadas se ve que las van renovando con frecuencia.

Väldigt trevligt hotell. Vi bor på ”The Level” vilket är en uppgradering. Då ingår i princip allt: Nespresso-maskin på rummet, väldig bra frukost, tapas fram till kl 19, fri dryck i Level-loungen. Därtill väldigt trevligt bemötande och god service.

El hotel no puede estar mejor ubicado. El desayuno espectacular, las camas son comodísimas, la limpieza es impecable,...Hemos ido en varias ocasiones y siempre hemos terminado la experiencia con ganas de volver pronto. Es un hotel que invita a pasar mucho rato en él y disfrutar de todas sus instalaciones. Si pienso en Alicante, pienso en el Meliá.????♥️

The hotel is in a great place for Alicante tourist area. Rooms was nice with a good sea view and the cleaner came in every day . We were stayed for on the 1st floor which was meant to be adult only floor. Every morning at 6am we had a kid screaming shouting and crying and running around which we didn’t appreciate as we were on holiday. Also we never used the mini bar in the room but had a charge on my card which I must say has now been removed after contacting customer service for a second time.

The best about this hotel is the location and breakfast, rooms are just ok, very basic although they called ours ”premium” - there was nothing premium about it. Lots of parts are under reconstruction. Spa open relatively late at 11:00 am. And yes it is true: no toilet brush in WC.

Overall, I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The location is excellent, making it very convenient for getting around and exploring the area. The staff and service were also very good—everyone I interacted with was friendly, helpful, and professional.

However, there was one issue with the room that affected the experience slightly. The towels in the bathroom had a noticeable tomato sauce–like smell, which was unexpected and a bit unpleasant. It seemed like they may not have been fully cleaned or properly replaced.

Aside from that, the room itself was comfortable and the rest of the stay went smoothly. If the housekeeping team pays a bit more attention to details like fresh towels, this hotel would easily provide an excellent experience.

We had a lovely stay at Meliá Alicante. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, and the hotel itself is in a fantastic location. The spa facilities were also excellent and a real highlight of our trip.

However, we did experience some frustration regarding the spa opening times. On both evenings of our stay, we were given incorrect information about the spa hours. Unfortunately, this meant we were unable to use the spa on the second day as it was closed, and the day we arrived we were only able to access it for 45 minutes due to being told the wrong time again.

While the facilities themselves were great, we feel the staff should ensure they provide accurate and confirmed information about spa timings rather than guessing, as this impacted our overall experience.

Our first time in Alicante and we booked this hotel and we can definitely say our stay here has been awesome. The hotel has all mentioned facilities and the main attraction is Location. You can choose Sea view or Port view and both will provide you a good view for sure. Hotel Staff is really helpful and kind. Breakfast was super nice, many many options to choose, as a vegetarian also we had many good things to eat. Plus gluten free and other options available. The city and major attractions are very near by and public transport also just round the corner. We definitely recommend this to anyone who are planning the visit. Currently hotel is getting renovated although you don't face any issues and I feel once it is renovated fully jt will be more beautiful and provide more facilities.

Only one thing I feel can be better is the rooms walls are very thin and we can hear noise from other rooms sometimes.
